a merkypie in japan

Yesterday, I went to the sheriff’s office to get fingerprinted. I had found out they did fingerprints for a fee and that’s what I did. It was interesting in that they did not accept debit cards and I had to drive all the way to my bank (thank you Chase app for your find a bank function) to pull out money to get it done. It was also interesting on how I got stuck in traffic and a simple 10 minute drive ended up taking 45 minutes from the bank to the sheriff’s office.

After finally getting that all done, the sheriff was like, ” You need to get that ORI box filled. If you don’t fill it you’re not going to get them processed.”

I was like, lolwat. That’s not what the JET Program says but they were pretty adamant on this. So, I said thanks for the prints and decided to call up my consulate. I want to make sure that I’m doing this right; considering how long it takes for these fingerprints to get processed, I don’t want to have problems two months later and spend even more money. The consulate said everything was fine and I went to the post office to ship them off.

Now, I wanted to next day the prints but apparently this FBI facility is in BFE, West Virgina so it would not get there next-day. It was guaranteed, for 18 bucks, to get there on Thursday. Two days. I went up to the post office dude and he was like you’re better off sending it priority, its going to get there on Thursday for 5 bucks but its guaranteed to arrive on Thursday for 18.

Obviously, you know what I picked.

Once it shipped out, I got my delivery confirmation and drove home where I did nothing but procrastinate on school work and tend to my garden.

Today I have to go back to the doctor’s to get signed off on my TB test. Then, all my extra documents for early departure will be dooooooone. Just waiting on references now.

And that application.

Guh.
