a merkypie in japan

A poster on the official forums posted this about placements in their prefecture

my BoE supervisor has said that he knows the 7 people who are coming to my city. He is not yet able to tell us the names as he has not received the reply forms (you know, the ones you all had to turn in a week or so ago where you say ‘Yes I’m in!’), but he does know who he wants to come to his BoE.

So, if that’s the case, it’s pretty much a done deal that we’re not finding out our placements until the end of May. 😐

It seems like placements work like this

  1. Once Tokyo selects their shortlist, they begin the placement process
  2. We find out if we’re shortlisted or not and then turn in our reply forms
  3. Our coordinators send back the reply forms and upgraded if necessary during this process
  4. Prefectures have already, or just about done, picking who they want
  5. Prefectures then wait on the reply forms to confirm their picks.
  6. Once they receive the reply forms, they send their picks back to Tokyo
  7. Tokyo then receives placement info from the prefectures and relays it back to the coordinators
  8. Coordinators relay it to us
  9. Shortlisters then begin communication with CO and Preds

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

Well, time for work.

yeah, unfortunately, I think you correct that we won’t hear about placements until the end of May…….I don’t understand why it takes 4 weeks to confirm placements that have probably already been decided and were just waiting to get the ‘reply’ forms for confirmation…….

In 2010, the placement notification went out around mid May….
